Two men are receiving medical treatment at Mater Dei Hospital after being involved in two separate traffic accidents earlier today in Ħal Luqa and Gżira.
In Ħal Luqa, along Triq Ħal Farruġ, the first accident happened this morning at approximately 5:00 am. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the car, a Ford Fiesta, aged 34 years from Qrendi, lost control and smashed into a lamppost.
The second accident happened in Triq D’Argens, Gżira, at about 12:45 pm. Preliminary investigations show that a collision happened between a Yamaha YB125 motorcycle, ridden by a 59-year-old man from Fgura, and a Mazda Demio driven by a 30-year-old man from Birkirkara.
Medical teams assisted at both scenes, and the two injured men, aged 34 and 59 years, were taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where they were later certified to have sustained serious injuries.
Police investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
