A 68-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car on Triq il-Palma, Paola, yesterday evening.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 pm. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the elderly man, a resident of Paola, was hit by a Renault Clio driven by a 44-year-old man, who is also a resident of the same locality.
A medical team arrived on-site to provide first aid to the victim, who was then transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Later, he was certified to be suffering from serious injuries.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
