Well-known football personalities Mario Muscat and Simon Grech have officially launched the 14th edition of Goalkeeper Battle, this year dedicated to supporting Caritas Malta.
Speaking during a press event held on Wednesday at the Caritas Community Centre in Ħamrun, the organisers explained the event’s goals and structure.
Taking place on 31st May at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta, the Goalkeeper Battle 2025 offers local and international goalkeepers a unique opportunity to compete head-to-head in a thrilling contest. Participants aim to score the most goals in a one-on-one setup using two goalposts. Registration is open through football clubs or individually via application.
All players will receive commemorative gear, including gloves and a medal. Simon Grech highlighted that this year’s edition will support Caritas Malta through donations, acknowledging the organisation’s vital role in society. Caritas Malta Director Anthony Gatt expressed gratitude, emphasising that sports initiatives like this help steer individuals away from drug abuse while promoting healthy lifestyles.
