Pope Francis’ final wish: Popemobile transformed into mobile clinic for children in Gaza

In a powerful posthumous gesture of compassion, Pope Francis’ iconic popemobile is being converted into a mobile health unit to serve displaced children in Gaza.

Honoring the Pope’s final wish, Caritas Jerusalem is leading the initiative to equip the vehicle with diagnostic tools, vaccines, and life-saving supplies. Staffed by medics, it will bring critical care to some of the region’s most vulnerable children once humanitarian access is restored.

“This is more than a vehicle,” said Caritas officials. “It’s a message that the world has not forgotten Gaza’s children.”

The act reflects Pope Francis’ enduring legacy of mercy and his unwavering belief that every child is sacred.
