Yesterday, Prime Minister Robert Abela published a photo on himself and his wife on his Facebook account watching the Malta Premier League final. Sitting behind the Prime Minister were Justice Minister Jonathan Attard and Economy Minister Silvio Schembri: both of them are known to be part of Abela’s inner circle.
Sitting behind the ministers were Charles Azzopardi (with long white hair) and his son to the right. Charles Azzopardi is the man behind Azzopardi Fisheries and Valhmor Borg, and he is a tuna-farming mogul. There is a Labour MP behind Charles Azzopardi: Davinia Sammut Hili.
It’s not clear whether Charles Azzopardi was part of the political contingent around the Prime Minister.
