Miriana Conte has officially secured her place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Grand Final, following a commanding performance of her song “Serving” during the second semi-final held last night.
Representing Malta, Conte performed ninth out of sixteen entries and captivated both the jury and public with her stage presence and vocal prowess.
As expected, Conte advanced to the Grand Final, which will be held on Saturday, 17th May. The first semi-final took place on Tuesday, from which ten songs also progressed. Malta is now among the 26 acts preparing to compete in the most-watched non-sporting event in Europe.
Voting in the second semi-final included all participating countries, along with the United Kingdom, France, and Germany – three of the so-called “Big Five” nations that automatically qualify for the Grand Final. Host country Switzerland also cast its votes, as it is directly qualified due to hosting this year’s event, organised by Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR).
The running order for Saturday’s Grand Final was determined by a combination of an allocation draw and decisions made by the show’s producers, a process in place for over a decade. Following the semi-finals, each qualifying act was randomly placed into either the first or second half of the Grand Final. From there, the producers arranged the final order to ensure a diverse and engaging show for millions of viewers worldwide.
Now that the puzzle is complete, all eyes turn to Saturday’s broadcast, where Miriana Conte will represent Malta in the hope of bringing home the island’s first-ever Eurovision victory. The Grand Final will be streamed live across Europe and beyond, with a global audience of more than 180 million expected to tune in.
