A 29-year-old man from Qormi is in a critical condition after he sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident that occurred on Thursday at around 11:30 am on Triq Għajn Tuffieħa, Mġarr.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that the driver, who was operating a Toyota Aygo, likely lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a roadside room.
Emergency medical personnel and members of the Civil Protection Department provided assistance at the scene. The man was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as seriously injured and in danger of losing his life.
Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici has been informed and has appointed an inquiry into the incident. Police investigations are ongoing.
