Joseph and Michelle Muscat attended the wedding celebration of Franco Mercieca’s daughter last Friday in Gozo. The wedding was held at Rabat’s cathedral, with the celebrations taking place at the Ditch.
Franco Mercieca is Joseph Muscat’s friend and was previously a Labour MP. He is also a well-known ophthalmologist. His son is Charles Mercieca: Yorgen Fenech’s lawyer and previously a lawyer at the Office of the Attorney-General.
The wedding was between Claudia Mercieca and Laurence Xuereb.
Also present at the wedding were Chris Fearne and Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg. Chris Fearne did not interact with Joseph Muscat throughout the wedding. Ian Borg was not seen conversing with Joseph Muscat, but they may have greeted each other and spoken briefly.
Diane Izzo was also present conversing with Joseph and Michelle Muscat.
Present at the wedding was also the tenor Joseph Calleja, and he is also known to still be on friendly terms with Joseph Muscat.
During the wedding, Michelle Muscat addressed other guests with her trademark phrase. “My dears”.
