On the evening of Friday, 6th June, police conducting routine patrols in the Paceville area observed two individuals selling balloons filled with Nitrous Oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. Officers noted that several people were purchasing and inhaling the gas, prompting immediate intervention. A total of 18 Nitrous Oxide canisters were confiscated, and the sellers were stopped for further investigation.
Later that same night, police identified two individuals, already known to law enforcement, who were breaching court-imposed bail conditions. Both were arrested on the spot.
At around midnight, officers also witnessed a man involved in cannabis trafficking. He was arrested, brought to court, and admitted to the charges. He was sentenced to 14 months in prison and fined €500.
In another incident reported at approximately 5:30 am near Spinola Garden, a man claimed he had been robbed. Police responded immediately and, after a patrol with the victim, identified and arrested the suspect shortly afterward. The man was found in possession of the victim’s wallet and mobile phone. He appeared in court, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three years in prison.
The following evening, Saturday night, police were again on routine patrol in Paceville when they were called to assist at the scene of a traffic accident involving two vehicles. The situation escalated into an argument between five people. Two of the individuals were arrested for refusing to cooperate with police, while one woman assaulted an officer. She was taken to court under arrest, pleaded guilty to the charges, and was handed a three-year probation order. A protection order was also issued in favor of the police officer.
