Early this morning, at around 4:00 a.m., police were informed that assistance was needed at an apartment in Vjal il-Bon Pastur, Ħal Balzan.
Police officers immediately responded to the call, and from preliminary investigations, it was found that an 81-year-old man had fallen approximately four storeys into the courtyard beneath his residence.
A medical team was called to the scene, but unfortunately, the man was certified dead a short time later.
Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry. Police investigations are still ongoing.
