Strong showing for Maltese shooters at home and abroad

Marlon Attard wins MSSF Skeet Competition 50+50+25 (T3)

Marlon Attard claimed top honours in the third edition of the MSSF Skeet Competition 50+50+25 (T3), hitting 117 out of 125 targets at the Malta National Shooting Ranges in Siggiewi.

Attard led the field from the early rounds and maintained his composure in the final stage, finishing ahead of Liam Sciberras (115/125) and Clive Farrugia (114/125). The format saw shooters start with 50 targets, after which the top four advanced to shoot another 50. Following the 100-target mark, the top three competed in a final 25-shot round.

  • Liam Sciberras โ€“ 91/100

  • Clive Farrugia โ€“ 90/100 (+2 in shoot-off)

  • Matthias Azzopardi โ€“ 90/100 (+1 in shoot-off)

  • Class B: Joseph Muscat (37/50)

The next Skeet event on the calendar is the All Malta 5th Skeet Selection Shoot 2025, scheduled for 30โ€“31 August.

William Chetcuti Claims Victory in MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25 (T3)

William Chetcuti emerged victorious in the MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25 (T3), hitting an impressive 117 out of 125 targets and securing the MSSF Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS).

Gianluca Chetcuti and Brian Galea rounded out the podium, both scoring 114/125, with Gianluca edging Galea in a shoot-off.

The competition began with all participants shooting at 50 targets. The top 12 advanced to a second round of 50 targets, with the best six moving on to a final 25.

Maltese Trap Shooters Compete at Italian Open Green Cup in Todi, Italy

Maltese shooters delivered solid performances at the Italian Open Green Cup, held at the UmbriaVerde Resort in Todi, Italy. The team competed in the Trap Individual events, shooting at a total of 125 targets across two days.

Veteran shooter Nazzareno Attard reached the podium with a third-place finish in the Veterans Category, while junior athlete Jacob Attard placed 14th in his age group.
