A 41-year-old man from Thailand suffered serious injuries following an explosion on a boat at the Mġarr Harbour marina in Gozo on Thursday evening.
The police were informed of the incident at around 9:15pm. Upon arriving on site, officers found the man injured and immediately requested medical assistance. He was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as seriously injured and is currently in danger of losing his life.
Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department were also on site to assist in the operation.
Magistrate Simone Grech has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry. Police investigations are ongoing.
