A 52-year-old man from Żurrieq was taken to Mater Dei Hospital at around 11:30pm on Tuesday night after suffering injuries in a traffic accident inside a parking area in Triq il-Mina ta’ Hompesch, Żabbar.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was hit by a Toyota Vitz driven by a 26-year-old man from Kalkara.
The victim was given medical assistance at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as seriously injured and is in danger of losing his life.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and opened an inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
