Malta FA Jubilee Cup Second Phase draws announced

The road to the final of the Malta FA Jubilee Cup, supported by Enemed, is set as the draws for the Second Phase of the competition were held on Friday, 19th September 2025, at Centenary Hall, Ta’ Qali.

This special edition tournament is part of the Malta Football Association’s 125th anniversary celebrations, bringing together clubs from all divisions as well as teams from other member associations, making it one of the most inclusive competitions ever organised by the MFA.

Second Phase – Jubilee Cup (Men’s Competition)

Over the past month, clubs from the BOV Amateur Leagues, the Gozo Football Association, and various member associations competed in the First Phase, battling for a coveted spot in the next round.

Three fixtures from the Gozo Group remain outstanding, with those results set to confirm the final qualifiers for the Second Phase.

The draw was conducted by Malta FA Football Operations Manager Stewart Said and Enemed CEO Kevin Chircop.

Format of the Second Phase

The Second Phase introduces teams from higher divisions into the competition:

  • 10 First Phase teams will be joined by 16 BOV Challenge League sides and the 12 BOV Premier League clubs.

The stage begins with a Preliminary Round, featuring 12 randomly drawn teams from the First Phase and Challenge League. These fixtures will be played on 1st and 2nd October 2025, reducing the pool by half to six teams.

The six winners will then progress to the Round of 32, where they will meet the remaining Challenge League teams and Premier League clubs. These matches are scheduled for 18th and 19th October 2025.

With top-flight teams entering at this point, the Round of 32 promises exciting clashes and the potential for major upsets as amateur and lower-league sides face off against Malta’s elite clubs.
