Libya is currently being plagued by mass wave of racism as the government clamps down on illegal immigrants. The clampdown is mostly focused on Black immigrants who are often victims of racism across Libya.
Several reports of Libyans taking the law in their own hands to search for immigrants are coming up daily with many reports of and videos of migrants being beaten. This wave of racism is being pushed by suspicious websites and social media accounts that regularly produce pro-Russian propaganda and nostalgia for the Muammar Gaddafi era.
One particular example is the social media page Libya News Today1 which regularly produces racist content. These website regularly propagate the message that illegal immigrants in Libya are draining Libyan resources and are the source of most criminality. This is fake
