Last weekend was a strong one for Maltese table football athletes competing abroad, with encouraging performances recorded in both the Greek and Italian Table Football Championships.
Greek Championship
The first round of the Greek Table Football Championship saw several Maltese players deliver excellent results.
Crimson Horses, led by Mario Camilleri, secured fourth place, putting themselves firmly in the fight for the title.
Meanwhile, Piraeus Lions, managed by Angelo Borg and newly promoted to the division, also impressed with a solid performance, currently sitting seventh in the standings and well positioned to build on their strong start.
Italian Championship
Maltese players also made their mark in Italy during the opening round of the Italian Table Football Championships, one of the most competitive circuits in Europe.
In Serie A, SS Lazio, captained by Patrick Pace and featuring Jamie Bonnici and Joseph Borg Bonaci, finished in 10th place in what is considered one of the toughest leagues in recent years.
In Serie B, Reggio Calabria, with Spencer Conti in their ranks, enjoyed an excellent debut campaign, securing 6th place and firmly entering the promotion race.
In Serie C, Palermo, represented by young talent Jayden Bonnici, also had a positive start, claiming 5th place and keeping themselves well in the hunt for promotion.
