Sliema Mayor John Pillow complains of nightly disturbances by teenagers

Sliema Mayor John Pillow is complaining about teenagers causing nightly disturbances in Bizazza Square, Sliema. He also posted a video of the teenagers which is being shared below.

The mayor says that the teenagers are also pestering and harassing residents.

Teenagers in Malta have lost many public spaces amid rapid population growth during the past few years. The places where they used to hang out at the weekend are disappearing for a host of reasons: the public park in Paceville is closed at night, and some spacesโ€”like the one in Marsascalaโ€”are being built over. I don’t think that building more shopping malls will help.

As pedestrianised zones increasingly become popular while the old spaces are lost, we will be seeing more of this and not less.
