On Sunday, at around 9:00 a.m., police were informed that a person had been injured in a field along Triq l-Għadira, Kerċem, Gozo.
Investigations revealed that a 73-year-old man from Kerċem slipped while walking in a field and fell approximately nine feet into an adjacent one.
A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department provided assistance at the scene, and the man was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.
He was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries and is in critical condition.
Magistrate Brigitte Sultana has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
