The Tigers took control early on, with Julian Vella opening the scoring after just ten minutes. Brian Alejandro Parada doubled the lead midway through the first half to put Xewkija firmly in charge by the break.
After the restart, Claudio Daniel Frances added two goals — on 53 and 85 minutes — to complete an impressive personal performance, while Abou Toure rounded off the scoring with a late strike in the 87th minute.
It was a confident showing from Xewkija, who demonstrated their attacking depth and defensive solidity throughout.

In the day’s second fixture, Għajnsielem produced a strong second-half display to defeat Sannat Lions 4–1 after coming from behind.
Sannat took a surprise lead on 27 minutes when John Axiak inadvertently turned the ball into his own net. However, Għajnsielem responded just before half-time through Tristan Grech, who equalised with a well-taken goal in stoppage time.
The Blacks took control after the interval, with Baldwin Osayi Igbinobaro putting them ahead in the 84th minute. Late strikes from James Tabone Refalo (90’) and Jhon Alejandro Gonzalez Castillo (90+2’) sealed a convincing win and capped a dominant finish for Għajnsielem.
Both Xewkija Tigers and Għajnsielem progress to the next stage of the BOV GFA Cup, joining Nadur Youngsters, Oratory Youths, and Qala Saints, as the competition’s lineup for the next round takes shape.
