An elderly woman was seriously injured following a traffic accident in Naxxar on Thursday morning.
The collision occurred at around 8:00 a.m. in Triq il-Kappella ta’ Xagħra. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the crash involved a Mazda Demio driven by a 19-year-old woman and a Mercedes Benz driven by a 61-year-old man.
A 73-year-old woman was travelling as a passenger in the Mercedes. A medical team and ambulance were called to the scene, taking both the young driver and the elderly passenger to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
The 73-year-old woman was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries, while the 19-year-old sustained minor injuries.
All individuals involved are residents of Naxxar. Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
