The EU naval force in Somalia under EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA, has rescued the Maltese-flagged ship, Hellas Aphrodite after an intervention by the Spanish frigate, ESPS Victoria. A statement has been issued here. The 24 crew-members remain safe after the EU naval force made a show of force and stormed the ship via helicopter and boats. The naval force is currently also conducting intense surveillance operations of the area.
