According to the latest NSO statistics, Malta’s exports in the third quarter of this year came lower compared to the same quarter last year. Trade volume has been consistently lower than last year’s record year. Despite lower trade volume, the trade deficit for September this year is slightly higher than last year’s at €307 million compared to €301 million.
Overall exports have been declining consistently this year. The total volume of exports for Malta this year was at around €3.39 billion, significantly lower than last year’s €3.75 billion. Imports are slightly higher at €7 billion compared to last year’s $6.9 billion.
