Last week, Times of Malta, reported that a nurse is being charged of defrauding an old man staying at an old people’s home of up to €150,000. The nurse is Nicole Dalli Grech and she is 27 years old. She supposedly was responsible for the care of the victim but eventually ended up defrauding him (allegedly).
It is strange how only the nurse is being charged.
According to the civil case that the victim has started before the criminal case was initiated, the husband of the nurse is also involved with her and he is Andy Grech – the Head of Policy at AIMS. AIMS is the Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport, falls under the Ministry of Education and it has also been the subject of multiple scandals and controversies. Andy Grech is a qualified teacher.
The victim is accusing the nurse of asking for a loan of up to €150,000 to renovate her home which she ended up not repaying claiming that the money was a donation.
Andy Grech retains his public post despite the serious allegations against him.
