There is currently a massive fire in a Marsa scrapyard with flames that can be seen from all over Malta. The scrapyard is JCD Steel, at Giuseppe Garibaldi Street, Marsa.
This is the second fire in a scrapyard in recent days with another one taking place in Ghaxaq last week.
In a Facebook post, the Civil Protection Department warned the public to avoid the area due to safety concerns and ongoing emergency response operations.
Residents in nearby towns and villages including Paola and Tarxien are advised to keep all doors and windows closed as a precaution against smoke and fumes.
