The study analysed factors such as Christmas tour availability, accommodation affordability, language accessibility, and overall seasonal appeal.
London tops the global list, praised for its iconic Christmas lights, seasonal attractions, and wide range of guided festive tours. Close behind, Amsterdam ranks highly thanks to its multilingual Christmas experiences and atmospheric canals illuminated for the holidays.
Germany remains a Christmas classic, with Nuremberg standing out for its world-famous Christkindlesmarkt, while Strasbourg, often dubbed the “Capital of Christmas,” continues to attract visitors with its historic markets and Alsatian traditions.
Eastern and Southern Europe also perform strongly. Zagreb is highlighted as one of the best-value Christmas destinations in 2025, combining lively markets with relatively affordable winter accommodation. Cities such as Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen, and Rome further reinforce Europe’s dominance in festive travel rankings.
