MTTA second ranking tournaments conclude with record participation

The second Ranking Tournaments organised by the Malta Table Tennis Association (MTTA) came to a successful conclusion, rounding off several weeks of high-quality competition and thrilling matches across all age categories.

Once again, the tournaments showcased the growing depth and strength of Maltese table tennis, with both emerging youngsters and established senior players producing impressive performances throughout the event.

Winners and Finalists

  • Under 11: Zack Borg 🥇, Darius Konovalov 🥈

  • Under 13: Jake Arora 🥇, Ben Vella 🥈

  • Under 15: Kayden Griscti 🥇, Arina Ivanova 🥈

  • Under 19: Luke Fenech 🥇, Neil Incorvaja 🥈

  • Girls Seniors: Alice Mariani 🥇, Nadia Bonett 🥈

  • Seniors: Daniel Bajada 🥇, Luke Bonello 🥈

A total of 302 matches were played during the tournament series, setting a new record and highlighting the scale and popularity of the competition. All events bar one concluded before 11pm, reflecting efficient scheduling and excellent cooperation between players, coaches and officials.

The MTTA League and Tournaments Sub-Committee played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth organisation of the events, creating a professional environment that allowed participants to focus fully on their performances.

Special appreciation was extended to Roberta Vella Photography for capturing the atmosphere and key moments of the tournaments, as well as to Luke Sultana for the custom 3D-printed trophies that gave the event a distinctive and memorable touch.

The MTTA also invites anyone interested in helping organise future tournaments to come forward, as the association continues its work to further raise the standard of table tennis in Malta.
