Konrad Mizzi is proof that being autistically smart doesn’t exclude you from being stupidly corrupt. Or maybe he is not smart at all and he is just autistic.

But yes, even during his short 6+ years in Muscat’s band of thieves, Mizzi went from a bright eyed, fresh faced high-flyer, to a haggard, puffy eyed mess, aging a good 20 years in the meantime.

I don’t agree with this article. This is not about defending Konrad Mizzi, but about the language used. Using autism as an insult or as a way to explain someone’s behaviour is harmful and disrespectful to autistic people. Autism is not something a journalist should speculate about or “diagnose,” especially without professional qualifications. This kind of writing reinforces stigma rather than meaningful criticism.
