Starlites maintain perfect record; Hibernians keep pace in BOV National Men’s League

Starlites Revive head into the upcoming Knockout competition with a flawless 9-0 record, firmly positioned atop the BOV National Men’s League standings after Matchweek 9. Hibernians are hot on their heels in second place with an 8-1 record.

The playoff race remains highly competitive. The Plaza Depiro sits in third place (4-5), just one point ahead of Luxol Sherries Estates (3-6), who reclaimed sole possession of fourth place with a weekend victory. Athleta AtoZ (2-7) are only a point away from fourth place, while Valletta Dream (1-8) sits a point beneath them.

Hibernians had to fight long and hard to earn a win against a resilient Depiro side in a balanced, entertaining matchup. The Paolites saw Deonte Jackson lead their scoresheet with 22 points, while Gouder, Demcesen, and Simmons all finished with double digits. For Depiro, recent signing Uadiale and Reddish both achieved double-doubles.

Starlites Revive maintained their positive momentum with a dominant sweep past Athleta AtoZ. The Naxxar side had an impressive seven players reach double digits in scoring, with Iturmendi and Jallow both registering double-doubles. Athleta had debutant Little drop 23 points, while Vitale and Ebalashvili scored 18 and 14 points respectively.

Luxol Sherries Estates secured a well-earned victory against Valletta Dream, leading the game from the start. Luxol was led by a standout performance from Howard, who scored 40 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Import players Brewer and Johnson combined for an additional 41 points. Valletta had Roper with 30 points, while Varcallo added 17 points and 14 rebounds.
