European Central Bank leaves interest rates unchanged: employment growing moderately

The European Central Bank left its interest rates unchanged at 2-2.4% as the ECB said that inflation is coming down to its target of 2%. The ECB expects inflation to moderate at these levels in the medium-term.

The ECB stated that Inflation in the month of January was at 1.7% declining from 2% in December and 2.1% in November, while GDP growth in the last quarter was at 0.3%. Unemployment stood at 6.2% after moderating from 6.3% in November. The ECB sees that the labour market is active and unemployment is going to rock bottom.
