A 59-year-old man from Haż-Żabbar was seriously injured after falling through the roof of a residence while carrying out work. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 10:45 am on Triq il-Qrendi in Żurrieq.
The man was on the roof using small machinery when the accident happened. Police, Civil Protection Department personnel, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. He was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as suffering serious injuries.
The case was reported to Magistrate Franco Agius who appointed an inquiry assisted by experts.
Investigations are ongoing, led by the police in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, the Building and Construction Authority, and the Health Authority.
