Joe Cutajar, the 41-year-old soldier, has been confirmed as the victim who tragically lost his life in Thursday eveningโs motorcycle accident on the GฤงajnsielemโQala road.
Police said the fatal collision occurred at around 6:45pm in Triq Borg Gฤงarib, Gฤงajnsielem. Preliminary investigations indicate that the crash involved a VW Polo driven by a 41-year-old man from Qala and a SuperSoco motorcycle ridden by Cutajar, who was a resident of Nadur.
A medical team was called immediately to the scene and administered assistance, however Cutajar was sadly certified dead a short time later.
Magistrate Monica Vella was informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry, while police investigations into the circumstances of the accident remain ongoing.

A motorcyclist has tragically lost his life following a traffic collision on the road linking Gฤงajnsielem and Qala in Gozo earlier today. According to preliminary information, the motorcyclist is a 44 year old man from Qala.
The accident occurred a short while ago (around 7pm) and involved a motorcycle and a car, according to initial information provided by police. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but the rider was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities confirmed the fatality to The Maltese Herald,ย noting that investigations into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing. The identities of those involved have not yet been released, and it is not yet known what led to the incident.
