A 70-year-old woman from Mġarr has died after being struck by a vehicle on Triq iż-Żebbiegħ on 2 March at around 9:30am. Police said she was hit by a Ford Transit driven by a 39-year-old man, also from Mġarr.
A medical team treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was initially certified as suffering from serious injuries. Police later confirmed that she sadly died as a result of those injuries.
Duty Magistrate Franco Agius has appointed an inquiry, and Police investigations are ongoing. The statement serves as an update to an earlier press release issued on 2 March 2026.
