Following several days of police observation in connection with reports of individuals begging for money in the Gżira area, an operation was carried out early yesterday morning.
The police, assisted by officials from the Detention Services Agency, conducted inspections in the area.
During the operation, 32 people were arrested after being found living in the country irregularly, including the two individuals who were allegedly begging for money.
These individuals are currently being held in a detention centre until they are repatriated.
