Household saving rate decreases to 14.8% in the Euro area comapred to last year

According to the latest data issued by Eurostat household savings rate decreased to 14.8% in the Euro area last year compared to 15% in 2024.

The drop was mainly driven by household consumption rising faster than income. The household investment rate increased slightly from 8.7% to 8.8% Gross capital formation is increasing faster than disposable income in the EU.

Profit share of non-financial corporations remained the same at 39.5% but their investment rate increased slightly from 21.7% to 21.9%.

Overall, 2025 showed a modest decline in household saving, a slight increase in household investment, stable corporate profits, and a slight increase in corporate investment compared with 2024.
