Melania Trump denies connection with Jeffrey Epstein: but she can’t deny her link to trafficking networks

US First Lady Melania Trump has denied any connection with Jeffrey Epstein and said that she only met him for the first time at a party in New York in 2000. She said that any connections and stories linking her to him are false and the she was not his victim. She also said she was never on his plane and that she went to his parties due to overlapping social circles.

In addition, she said that an email she sent to Ghislaine Maxwell about the attendance of an event was just casual correspondence.

Melania Trump also urged Congress to conduct hearings of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and said that stating that their testimonies should be heard in full and given the attention they deserve. She emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability, adding that victims must be allowed to speak without fear or political interference.

Despite Melania Trump’s denials there is a historical trail indicating that Melania Trump was brought to the US through the same networks from which Jeffrey Epstein used to procure his girls.

Melania Trump (then Melania Knauss) was brought to the US in 1996 by Italian modeling agent Paolo Zampolli. At the time, Zampolli was a partner at the modeling agency Metropolitan Models (also referred to as Metropolitan International Management or Metropolitan Model Management) in New York. He scouted her in Milan in 1995 and sponsored her immigration. She initially entered the US on a B-1/B-2 visitor (tourist) visa on August 27, 1996, and then Zampolli helped secure her an H-1B work visa as a fashion model in October 1996. The H-1B application was based on her prior modeling work in Europe (Milan and Paris).

Today, Paolo Zampolli is President Donald Trump’s Special Representative for Global Partnerships. He has been seen with President Trump at social gatherings and seems to enjoy his confidence and his trust. He also seems to be leveraging his personal relationship with the President to settle personal scores. His ex-wife, who lived in the US has accused him of using ICE to deport her to Brazil after a child-custody battle in Court. You can read a detailed description of Paolo Zampolli, by his ex-wife, Amanda Ungaro here. Zampolli was 32 when he started a relationship with her who was just 17 in 2002. They met in Manhattan after she was brought to the US by another modelling agent called, Jean-Luc Brunel, who had also flown, Ungaro on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane when she was just a minor.

Jean-Luc Brunel was charged with rape of children in France and died by suicide in a cell in 2022 while awaiting trial.

Zampolli seems to have been well connected. He used to procure models for Donald Trump, and Jeffrey Epstein, moving within elite social and business circles that linked politics, media, and high-profile international figures. He also sold one of his early companies to Silvio Berlusconi before moving to the US in the 1990s. Melania Trump says that Zampolli introduced her to Donald Trump at a party in the Kit Kat Club in 1998. Since then he seems to have been enjoying more of Donald Trump’s company. Donald Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organisation, was involved in organising beauty pageants and operated Trump Model Management, a modelling agency that recruited and represented models for fashion and promotional work. President Trump has been accused of raping a teenage child during one of his “pageant girls” parties.

Melania Trump distanced herself from the victims by saying that every woman should be able to tell her truth, clearly implying that her experience was different. However, her statement leaves little room for empathy for the victims who were part of trafficking networks. Melania Trump’s statements has the characteristics of the refrain told by the all the men who were friends with Epstein but claim to have been unaware of his crimes. Yet, Melania Trump’s proximity to Amanada Ungaro shows that her “overlapping social circle” was literally a trafficking network of young girls for pedophile rapists, adding further suspicions to her claim that she, “was never a witness”.
