Industrial producer prices go up but lower than Euro average

According to the latest release by the NSO, the industrial price index increased by 0.9% in April keeping inflation up in the industrial sector and showing that inflation is all-rounded apart from stemming from fundamental pressures following the oil and supply shock of the war on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Industrial Producer Price Index went up by 3.4% in the Euro area in April. The discrepancy between Malta and the rest of Europe lies within electricity prices.

The Retail Price Index for April has come at 2.8% while CPI in the Euro area was recorded at 3%.
