This general election has brought out the best out of some political candidates, who have emerged as very promising names with a very interesting political career ahead. Here’s three of the political candidates who have really outdone themselves during this general election campaign.
Finance Minister Clyde Caruana
This has been Clyde Caruana’s general election campaign. The Finance Minister came out of a long monastic silence to launch a highly questionable and controversial fiscal programme. The Labour Party’s whole general election campaign has basically been based on his fiscal estimates. Clyde Caruana has truly taken centre stage in the Labour Party during this election, effectively paving the way for his ascension to the deputy leadership and potentially also the leadership of the party

ADPD Leader Sandra Gauci
ADPD Leader Sandra Gauci has exceeded limits and broken glass-ceilings in Maltese politics by being a patty leader herself, and also leading the first political party proposing the decriminalisation ofr abortion. She gave an impassioned speech about her working-class roots during the University of Malta political leaders’ debate and has been one of the strongest critical voices against the Labour government during this election.
