Cospicua Rangers held by Ħamrun 147 A as Blackball Championships reach crucial stage

Cospicua Rangers A and Ħamrun 147 A shared the points in one of the most exciting encounters of the week in the National Blackball Championship, battling to a thrilling 10-10 draw.

The closely contested match saw momentum swing repeatedly between the two sides, with neither team able to establish a decisive advantage. In the end, a draw proved a fair result as both teams collected a point in a contest that kept spectators on edge until the final frame.

Despite dropping points, Cospicua Rangers A remain at the summit of the National Championship standings as the season enters its decisive phase, with league titles across all divisions set to be decided in the coming weeks.

Regional Championship – Section A

Several teams recorded emphatic victories in Section A of the Regional Championship.

Żebbuġ St Joseph A, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Boys and Ħamrun 147 C all secured dominant 11-0 victories over Domus Kids Żejtun A, Valletta Fossa Boys and league leaders Qormi Pinto B respectively.

While Qormi Pinto B continue to lead the standings, both San Ġwann Tiki Taka Boys and Ħamrun 147 C have moved closer to the summit following their convincing wins.

Regional Championship – Section B

League leaders Ħamrun 147 B maintained their perfect run with another commanding performance, defeating Birkirkara Youngsters 11-4 to strengthen their grip at the top of the table.

Second-placed San Ġwann Tiki Taka Spartans also enjoyed a comfortable outing, recording an 11-0 victory over PL Balzan A.

Elsewhere, Selmun Sports Club A collected maximum points after overcoming Siġġiewi Montekristo A by an 11-5 scoreline.

Community League – Section A

PL Floriana continue to lead the way in Section A of the Community League, although they were pushed all the way before edging past Żebbuġ St Joseph B 11-9.

Closest challengers Cospicua Rangers B kept up the pressure with an impressive 11-2 victory over Mrieħel Billiard House B.

Birkirkara Juve secured an important 11-9 success against Selmun Sports Club C, while Birżebbuġa St Peter’s B and Siġġiewi Montekristo C could not be separated, sharing the points following a 10-10 draw.

Community League – Section B

Ħamrun 147 D continue to set the pace at the top of Section B after recording a flawless 11-0 victory over Qormi Anici.

Birkirkara Boċċi matched that result with an identical 11-0 triumph against Birżebbuġa St Peter’s A.

San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies strengthened their position near the top with an emphatic 11-2 win over Siġġiewi Montekristo B, while PL Balzan B and Selmun Sports Club B shared the spoils after finishing level at 10-10.
