A large fire broke out at around 1130PM at the former Bamboo Club in Paceville last night. The Civil Protection Department said that they had been called to intervene and eventually put the fire out by early morning.
Smoke could still be seen rising from the fire at around 830am today. The CPD said that there were no major injuries although a person had to be treated for smoke inhalation. The former club appears to have suffered considerable damage.
Several hotel guests from neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution but were eventually allowed to return to their rooms as the fire was contained.
