Ħamrun SC and Sliema Beach Soccer continued their impressive form in the Men’s Beach Soccer Championship, strengthening their positions among the early title contenders with another series of victories at Pretty Bay, Birżebbuġa.
Both teams produced commanding performances to extend their winning runs, setting up what promises to be a highly anticipated showdown between the two sides later this evening.
Sliema Continue to Impress in Front of Goal
Sliema Beach Soccer once again demonstrated their attacking prowess, recording two emphatic victories to maintain their strong momentum.
Their first match saw them overwhelm Ballun FC in a one-sided encounter, running out convincing 17-2 winners. Sliema’s attacking players were in outstanding form throughout the match, creating numerous opportunities and converting them with ruthless efficiency.
The Blues followed up that performance with another dominant display against Phoenix Beach Soccer, securing a comfortable 10-2 victory. The result highlighted the team’s balance between attack and defence as they controlled proceedings from start to finish.
Having scored 27 goals across their two matches, Sliema have sent a strong message to their championship rivals and will enter their next fixture full of confidence.
Ħamrun Edge Through Tough Tests
League rivals Ħamrun SC also maintained their unbeaten record, although their path to victory proved more challenging.
The reigning contenders first secured a professional 3-0 win over Ballun FC before facing a sterner examination against La Playa de Arena.
In a closely contested encounter, Ħamrun demonstrated resilience and composure to emerge with a narrow 2-1 victory. The result showcased the team’s ability to grind out results even when not at their most dominant, a quality often associated with championship-winning sides.
With two more victories added to their tally, Ħamrun remain firmly in contention at the top of the standings.
Spartans Too Strong for WA Agency
Elsewhere, Spartans produced one of the most entertaining performances of the round as they defeated WA Agency 10-4.
Spartans were in control for large periods of the contest, displaying excellent attacking movement and clinical finishing. Despite WA Agency’s efforts to remain competitive, Spartans consistently found ways to break through and eventually secured a convincing six-goal victory.
The result keeps Spartans firmly in the hunt as the championship continues to gather pace.
