The European Central Bank has unveiled ten shortlisted design proposals for the new Euro banknotes.
The new Euro banknotes will feature either a selection of European birds, including the wallcreeper, kingfisher, bee-eater, white stork, avocet and northern gannet, or a series of notable European cultural and scientific figures, including Maria Callas, Ludwig van Beethoven, Marie Curie, Miguel de Cervantes, Leonardo da Vinci and Bertha von Suttner.
The different proposals have been compiled in an online survey through which the European public can provide feedback on each design. The survey will remain open until 21 September 2026.
The final design will be selected by the European Central Bankโs Governing Council around the end of 2026, taking the results of the public surveys into account.
