It’s not about Electrogas – Joseph Muscat

In yet another of his diabolical acts of political shrewdness, the disgraced ex-Prime Minister Joseph Muscat today said several “imprudent things“, since this is the language that the government and the Labour Party are currently using about the verdict on Yorgen Fenech.

He basically used a very eloquent and well-produced text (typical of his political machinations) to say several things. He did it by emphasising what, according to him, are important facts – since Joseph Muscat has suddenly become the benign figure of factual and truthful discourse now in Malta after Yorgen Fenech’s verdict.

It shows that he wants vindication – his press conference was made with a podium and as if he is getting into politics again – by contrast to one of his last press conferences where he preferred the more football-like table set-up.

In the press conference Joseph Muscat blamed the leaks for undermining the Court and the media for publishing these leaks. He emphasised that the Court’s conclusion implicitly resulted in concluding that Electrogas was not the reason behind Daphne’s murder and used this to attack the public inquiry which, he said, implies that the murder was carried out because of Electrogas.

This is his triumphant vindication – not necessarily that Yorgen Fenech has been freed, but that his mega-corrupt adventure behind Electrogas is supposedly not the official reason behind Daphne’s murder. And obviously, his revenge against the press, which according to him, is to blamme for Yorgen Fenech’s verdict.

He can’t however say that he is happy with Yorgen Fenech’s verdict. He keeps the pretence that he is not a dirty criminal like his two mates Yorgen Fenech and Keith Schembri but some sort of politician who got involved in this mess only by association with Keith Schembri and that he did whatever he could to find the perpetrators of this crime and whatnot.

And he still feels the need to defend the Electrogas project, which was after all his flag-ship project having even pushed his Energy Minister and his other associate, Konrad Mizzi to become Deputy-Leader of the Labour Party.

  1. He is obviously happy that Jurgen is free. Kieku waqa’ hu kien jaqa’ kullhadd.

And he is obviously still in good contact with Kasco. He even admitted that he discussed this press conference with him.

Don’t be fools. That is how the mafia works. If one falls, all will fall. And that’s why they’re making sure that no-one falls.

    1. ‘Myself’ bingo its how it is!! Anke Egrant jikxiflu Fenech! Kollox mahdum kien. Kieku wehel Fenech kollox kien jikxef!
