The Malta Gay Rights Movement organised this year’s annual Pride March in Valletta in memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia, Sion Grech and Lassana Cisse, who, in the MGRM’s words, were all victims of systemic failures of justice.
MGRM said that the movement cannot stop at visibility while basic human rights and functioning justice are denied, alongside inclusive healthcare and equal access to housing and education.
“Pride is an ongoing commitment to action over pinkwashing,” the organisation said.
A number of NGOs, political party representatives, foreign diplomats and embassy representatives attended the march. Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Alex Borg were also present.
