Nationwide power cut hits Malta and Gozo

Updated with Enemalta statement

In a statement, Enemalta said that the power cut was caused by the Delimara Power Station tripping. Power went off around 10.08am and was eventually fully restored around 11am.

Earlier

A sudden and widespread power cut hit the Maltese islands around 10am this morning. The Enemalta map reported several areas without power including Marsa, Msida, Safi, Zurrieq, Marsaskala and Paola.

Power was eventually restored within around 30 minutes in several areas although some remain without power as at 11am.
