By now everyone has watched the video of the drunk man brawling and fighting the Police yesterday in Valletta. The video is being posted below.
The incident took place at Saint Mark’s Street outside Cacciattolo’s Bar.
Since then we have identified the individuals involved and it wasn’t very difficult to do so given that their notoriety. The individuals used to be part of Guido De Marco’s guy and one of them, Jean Pierre Farrugia, still chauffeurs, Guido’s daughter, Giannella De Marco.
Jean Pierre Farrugia, from Valletta, is the son of Gianni Farrugia, who was with Diego Farrugia (Ix-Xadin) when Diego was shot dead by Frankie Grima at the Bamboo Bar in 1992. Diego and Gianni were part of a criminal group trying to extort night club owners in Paceville. Frankie Grima was eventually acquitted on self-defence grounds.
Jean Pierre Farrugia is the man who first first on the far-left of the photo.
The man seen in the video fighting with the police is the person standing next to Jean Claude Farrugia, with his arms around his friends’ shoulders. He is James Manfre, a 32-year-old resident of Msida. His father was a police officer.
James Manfre was arrested yesterday following the fight and is expected to be arraigned to Court over the incident.
Note that these images on social media were uploaded just before the fight broke out between the men.
