Finance Minister Clyde Caruana is currently being interviewed by The Times in a public event and has made a very surprising statement on the crisis that is currently the national air line KM Malta Airlines – the successor of Air Malta.
The Finance Minister made a reference to Joseph Muscat as he said that there were those who have tried to undermine the national airline and that when the time will come he will invite the Opposition for a debate and will spare no one. He also said that accounts of the national airline will be published. His full quote is being reproduced below.
The Finance Minister said nothing new about the ongoing government subsidies. The talk is ongoing.
Further on during the talk the Minister announced that the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will be up to €5 per week.

Where are KM Malta’s accounts? The national airline hasn’t published any in over two years.
Caruana channels Joseph Muscat in his reply.
“Someone recently said he has gravel in his shoes. I have half-inch nails,” he says, before hinting that there many agendas trying to spoil the national carrier.
“The accounts will be made public. I will say what I have to say about the airline when the time is right. I will even invite the opposition for a debate, for as long as necessary, to explain what has happened throughout time. But that only happens when the time is right.
“The things I have seen, and the people that have worked against it… when the time comes I will spare nothing and no one, because I have had enough with the undercurrents. When the time comes, I will speak.”
