Man who jumped in tiger’s enclosure in Yorkshire gets mauled and killed

A man was mauled to death by a tiger after entering its enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, Yorkshire, on Saturday, 10 October 2026.

The incident was filmed by visitors, with distressing footage subsequently circulating on social media. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead despite efforts by medical personnel. Police evacuated the wildlife park and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Witnesses reported that warning shots were fired in an attempt to distract the tiger and allow emergency responders to reach the victim. However, police confirmed that the animal was not injured and remained inside its enclosure throughout the incident.

The tiger, an Amur tiger named Altai, will not be euthanised, Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed on Sunday. The park said the animal was safe and well, while staff affected by the incident were receiving specialist support.

Police have urged the public not to share footage of the fatal attack out of respect for the victim and his family.

We are publishing only the first part of the incident before the man was grievously harmed, in order to highlight the danger of these animals. Warning: disturbing footage below.
