Michael Piccinino is on fire

There have been very few politicians and PN MPs who have made their mark by actually opposing the Labour government. Individuals like Adrian Delia, Beppe Fenech Adami and Mark Anthony Sammut come to mind.

Then there is the newly elected PN MP Michael Piccinino, who has been punching above his weight and seems to be gradually becoming one of the most active PN MPs. He is also speaking truth to power and taking on big fights.

Michael Piccinino went on the public broadcaster, on Ricky Caruana’s show, to call him out to his face on his programme about how he is being paid by the state to abuse the public broadcaster to spread Labour Party propaganda.

In stark contrast to the “positive politics” that the Labour Party promotes, which essentially amounts to tolerating corruption and anything criminal in politics by including and befriending the purveyors of this criminality, Michael Piccinino stood his ground and challenged Ricky Caruana directly.

This is the kind of Opposition that we need and that has consistently challenged governments and won elections. Many of you seem to have forgotten that during the GonziPN era, there used to be protests against the government on one issue or another almost every single week, with the Opposition fighting fiercely for government.

The Nationalist Party has taken the Public Broadcaster and the Broadcasting Authority to Court over the government’s abuse of the public broadcaster with its propagandists such as Ricky Caruana.
