AFD email leak exposes Antisemitism, racism an Nazi nostalgia among party top officials

A massive email leak from Germany’s far-right party, Alternative für Deutschland (AFD), has revealed extensive racism, antisemitism and Nazi nostalgia among senior party officials, including party leader Alice Weidel. In one particular email, Weidel shares antisemitic conspiracy theories and racist slurs.

Other emails show Weidel referring to Arabs, Sinti and Roma as “culturally alien peoples” and described Angela Merkel’s government as “puppets of the victors of the Second World War”.

Another email reveals former party leader Alexander Gauland justifying Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939.

Other senior AFD officials exposed in the leaked correspondence include Christina Baum, Bundestag member Matthias Helferich, Schneider-Gaertner, Beatrix von Storch and Andreas Keith. In an email, Helferich described himself as the “friendly face of National Socialism”.

The AFD has confirmed that a hosting provider was targeted in September and the leak has been confirmed by IT specialists.

The leak repository can be found here.
