Following a police investigation into the use of mobile phones by the Degiorgio brothers and the Tal-Maksar brothers in Kordin prison, The Maltese Herald can reveal that, according to information emerging from the investigation, the Tal-Maksar brothers were plotting to murder Denise Agius, the former wife of Robert Agius.
Denise Agius is accused by Robert Agius of appropriating his assets. She is also expected to leave the country.
Robert and Adrian Agius, known as the Tal-Maksar brothers, were both sentenced to life imprisonment on 10 June 2025 for providing the bomb to the Degorigio brothers that killed Daphne Caruana Galizia. Adrian Agius was separately sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in the murder of Carmel Chircop, who was shot dead in Birkirkara in October 2015.
Police investigations are ongoing.
